Community Economic Development
Links and Resources
CED is a community-based and community-directed response to poverty. It
is an approach taken by people to create economic opportunities and
improve social conditions in their own communities, particularly among
those who are most disadvantaged (e.g. low income, unemployed and
homeless people).
CED is founded on the belief that problems facing communities -
unemployment, poverty, job loss, environmental degradation and loss of
community control - need to be addressed holistically with the participation
of those who are directly affected.
